As a quick background, the reason I named myself Isobel in my books is for the meaning of “God’s Promise.” I feel called to make donations for sick children and rescue animals while teaching kids and adults through my writing.
During my spiritual awakening, I discovered and fell in love with my inner child. I was reborn. Awakening starts with self-love and spiritual growth.
I always felt different, like I was put on this earth for a special purpose.
Isobel is proof of what a person can do if they heal, evolve, and accept their inner child. So, come along, and let’s relive the magical moments of childhood!
Teddy’s Special Magic
My imagination is my superpower! I can play pretend for hours and get lost in make-believe worlds. My teddy bear, Teddy, and I go on missions to rescue dolls in distress. We build forts with blankets and chairs where no adults are allowed! I have fancy tea parties for Teddy and my dolls under the clothesline in the backyard.
Teddy isn’t just my favorite stuffed animal; he’s my best friend! He has super-soft brown fur and a red ribbon around his neck that I tie in a bow. Teddy was a gift for my 3rd birthday, and I’ve loved him to pieces ever since.
I take Teddy everywhere with me—on car rides, to the grocery store, outside to play. At night, Teddy tucks me in and keeps me safe in bed. In the morning, his big smile greets me when I wake up. Teddy never gets mad at me, even when I’m grumpy. He gives the best hugs when I’m upset.
Teddy lets me tell him all my secrets, dreams, and jokes. He thinks I’m funny, even when no one else laughs! Teddy shows me I’m worthy of love just by being me. I can be completely silly and free when we play together. He’s the best friend I could ever imagine!
Bike Lessons
Learning to ride a bike when I was five was scary but really exciting! I wobbled a lot at first, using training wheels. But finally, one Saturday, my dad took off the training wheels and gave me a push down the sidewalk.
“Keep moving!” he yelled as I pedaled hard, trying not to crash. The wind blew my hair back and made me feel like I was flying! I loved the feeling of zooming around our neighborhood for the first time, all by myself. Dad jogged behind me, yelling how proud he was. It was amazing!
I did get some ouchie scrapes and bruises, though. Once I was planted in the neighbor’s bushes, it hurt my hands and my ego! But Dad picked me up, cleaned me off, and said we all crash sometimes. What matters is getting back on the bike. So I brushed off the tears and tried again. Now I can bike super fast around the whole block!
Backyard Adventures
Some of my favorite memories are of playing pretend adventures in our backyard. Sometimes, I find a giant branch perfect for a magic wand! I waved it over our trampoline and turned it into a magic flying carpet. Teddy and I took turns pulling each other around the yard on it. We were Aladdin and Jasmine flying over an imaginary kingdom!
Another day, I gathered pinecones from under the big tree to use as royal treasure. Teddy and I took turns being the knights who protected the treasure from evil dragons and villains. He even let me win a few times!
Making up stories and games with my imagination is the best. Our backyard becomes whatever world I can dream up. I don’t need fancy toys when I have nature’s treasures and Teddy, my brave adventuring companion.
New School Jitters
Starting kindergarten last fall was really fun but kind of scary, too. On the first day, Mom walked me to the big brick school building. I held her hand super tight! She took me to my classroom, where the teacher, Mrs. Sanchez, welcomed me.
At first, I felt nervous being away from Mom in this new place with so many other kids. But Mrs. Sanchez gave us crayons and paper, and I started drawing a picture of our family. Some other girls joined me at the table, and we showed each other our drawings. I’m happy I made new friends so fast!
I was proud when Mrs. Sanchez put my family drawing up on the wall. She said she could tell I loved art. That made my butterflies go away. I realized school is fun—you get to make crafts, learn, and meet nice people like Mrs. Sanchez. I skipped all the way to the car when Mom picked me up after school.
Stormy Night Snuggles
One night last week, a big thunderstorm rolled in just as I was getting ready for bed. I hate the loud thunderstorms that shake the house! They make me feel scared and jumpy. As soon as the storm started, I grabbed Teddy from his spot on the bed and cuddled him tight.
“Don’t worry, Teddy, I’ll protect you from the scary storm,” I whispered to him. But really, holding him close made me feel safer, too. Mom came in to tuck us both in bed as the wind howled outside.
“It’s just noise, sweetie; it can’t hurt you,” she said, hugging me. I snuggled under the covers, tucked in close to Teddy. Mom sang lullabies until I fell asleep, feeling cozy and secure again thanks to Teddy’s cuddly magic! Storms don’t seem so scary when your best friend is there with you.
Always be curious!
Being seven means every day is full of chances for adventure and discovery! The whole world is interesting to me, and I want to explore all of it. I’m always asking, “Why?” about things I see.
Like, when we planted sunflowers in the garden, I kept asking why they grew toward the sun. Or when we made a sandcastle at the beach, I wondered how the ocean waves could knock it over. Mom and Dad don’t always know the answers, but they tell me it’s great that I ask so many questions.
There’s so much to be curious about and create with my imagination! I want to play, discover, ask questions, and see the magic in the world around me. Grownups are always busy, but they need to remember to be curious, too!
Teddy reminds me to keep exploring, trying new things, and seeing the glass half full. Every day is a new adventure waiting to happen!
Happy To Be Me, And You Can Too!
Being Isobel makes me really happy! Sure, some kids tease me for loving art and writing stories in my journal. But I don’t let that bother me. When I’m older, I want to make books to help kids be creative, ask questions, and make the world more beautiful.
I feel special, like I have a big purpose, even though I’m little. All my memories with Teddy, adventures in the backyard, new school experiences, and more—they make me who I am. I’m proud of that!
I hope sharing my magical memories helped you remember the wonderful kid inside you. We all have that innocent, wise part of us that sees the world in a special way. Don’t ever lose your sense of childlike wonder!
Let your inner kid come out to play. Ask questions, makeup stories, and see the good in people. Give someone a big hug. Eat an ice cream cone on a hot day! Keep your heart adventurous and free.
